Kristin Graziano
Lead Teacher (she/her)
Kristin is a native Lincoln Parker and was enrolled as a 3-year-old in the first ever class at Park West in 1971. She then went on with her life, earning her bachelor's degree in anthropology and Italian from Indiana University, then moving to Italy, North Carolina and Brooklyn. Her connection to Park West deepened when she returned as a parent in 2003, participating in the co-op for 7 years with all three of her children. This experience was not only an incredible educational opportunity for her but also truly made her a better parent. She marveled at the way in which Park West teachers spoke to and listened to children. It felt revolutionary to her. Kristin's commitment to early childhood education continued as she returned to Park West, first as a Parent Tot teacher, then as an assistant in the 4-day and JK classes, and eventually as a lead teacher in the 4-Day, 3-Day, and 2-Day classrooms. She treasures the opportunity each school year brings to witness the formation of a unique community among children, teachers, and parents, which she believes is at the core of a Park West education; The experience of being a part of a group and all that that entails. Kristin cherishes the thoughtful process of separation at Park West and the ensuing transference of trust from family to teachers. From there, Kristin believes, the work of preschool begins. Outside of her professional life, Kristin enjoys being out in nature, speaking Italian, and watching (alongside her husband) her young adult children forge their paths in the world.
