Katrina Nousaine Mann

Interim Education Director,
Lead Teacher (she/her)

Katrina came to Park West at the very beginning of her teaching career, as an assistant teacher in JK and camp counselor. This early role at Park West provided her with strong models for teaching and insight into the benefits of taking part in a professional learning community, which encourages growth in both students and teachers. After finishing her schooling, Katrina went on to teach in CPS, but when she had her own child, she knew she wanted him to start school at Park West. She returned to Park West as a parent and then began to substitute. Once her son was ready for elementary school, she returned to Park West as an inclusion aid, tots teacher, substitute and finally, as a full time classroom teacher. Katrina is passionate about helping children explore early mathematical concepts in the context of real world experiences and supporting the needs of diverse learners. She holds a master degree in Early Childhood Education from the Erikson Institute. This year, Katrina will serve as one of the interim education directors in the morning and work with children in the full day program in the afternoon. She is excited to support the needs of families and teachers in this new way, while still working directly with children in the classroom. In her free time, Katrina enjoys sailing, skiing, traveling and cooking with her family.
