Return to School After Illness Information
COVID-19 Testing Resources
Updated: March 21, 2022
A staff member or child that is exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms shall not attend school. If a student does exhibit symptoms, they must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication, diarrhea/vomiting must have ceased for 24 hours and symptoms must have improved prior to returning to school. After experiencing symptoms, return to school will be allowed with:
Documentation of a negative PCR test for COVID-19, OR
Five day exclusion from school from onset of symptoms AND correct and consistent masking while at school on days 6-10.
* The above procedures and protocols are required by DCFS, CDPH and IDPH.
Please note: If staff or students are diagnosed with an illness other than COVID-19, they should follow school policies regarding when they can safely return to school.

Contacting your child’s health care provider to determine the best course of action is highly recommended. If your child has symptoms that are not resolved/improved, an alternative diagnosis from a health care provider will be required for return to school.
Remember, Park West requires a PCR test for return to school prior to the 5 day quarantine period. Prior to having your child tested, verify they will receive a PCR test.
